Starting your own business

Do you consider yourself as an expat or international or a so called ‘newcomer’? Are you thinking about starting your own business in Netherlands (the area of Amersfoort or surroundings)?

Are you wondering about a lot of issues you would like to get more information about?  Probably, you have many questions which need to be answered. Questions like ‘how to …’ and ’where can I …’ and ‘why should I…’. Or:  ‘which information is most urgent to receive’?

It’s better to know which actions you have to take and which decisions you have to make, before you go to the KvK (Chamber of Commerce) to register as a new entrepreneur.

StartersHUB growth centre for entrepreneurship likes to help and to guide you on your journey to realise your entrepreneurial dreams.

Do you want more information about these necessary actions and decisions and  do’s and do not’s in advance?

Starting your own business, becoming an entrepreneur. Easy peasy?

Well, depending on your mindset and individual experience and background, it might be or not:

  • you were a business owner in your home country
  • you have already a well-thought-out and elaborated idea (business plan)
  • you know which service or product you want to introduce on the (local Dutch) market
  • you want to combine your current job with entrepreneurship
  • you are considering to quit your current job and start your own business
  • you want to be more than a stay home mum or dad
  • you are well educated and would like to do something with your knowledge and talents.
dreams should be big

Already registered your business at KvK?

Perhaps you’ve recently registered. And now you are thinking: what’s next?? Is starting you own business really a ‘piece of cake’? Well, ‘running’ to the Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel / KvK) and registering your company is the easy part. ?

However, there are consequences (obligations!)  to the registration you have to consider. Tasks and things to take into account in your time schedule, which may influence essential issues you have been thinking and deciding about. For instance:

  • tax / VAT (Belastingdienst)
  • laws, regulations, visa’s
  • the Dutch (business) culture
  • childcare and after school care
  • (local) permits and professional requirements
  • market research
  • business networks and associations
  • do you need a business plan
  • and so on

As team StartersHUB we always think it’s a pity, if somebody has underestimated or not fully understood the obligations and consequences of the registration at the KvK.

If you want more information about the necessary actions to make and decisions to take, do not hesitate and enscribe now for a live Q & A session at our HQ in Amersfoort.
